New Bible Translation Project Begins in Laos

TT Bible launches a new translation project for the Hmong Daw language group, bringing Scripture to one of Southeast Asia's largest unreached populations.

TT Bible is excited to announce the launch of a new Bible translation project for the Hmong Daw language group in Laos. With approximately 300,000 speakers, the Hmong Daw community has never had a complete Bible in their heart language.

The translation project will be a collaborative effort involving local Hmong Daw speakers, trained linguists, and theological advisors. The team aims to complete the New Testament within five years, with the full Bible targeted for completion within ten years.

"Translation is one of the most impactful investments in global missions," said the project lead. "When people read God's Word in their own language for the first time, something profound happens — the Scripture comes alive in a way that no second-language reading can replicate."

This project is funded entirely by donor support. TT Bible has committed $150,000 for the first year of translation work, covering team salaries, training, equipment, and field research. Additional funding will be needed as the project progresses through drafting, community checking, and publication phases.
